 Yayasan Usahawan Malaysia keen to work with Government to support MSMEs

Kuala Lumpur, 26 February 2026 – Yayasan Usahawan Malaysia welcomes the measures to help the business community and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) that were presented in Budget 2023 by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar  Ibrahim. Themed “Membangun Malaysia Madani” (Developing Malaysia Madani)”, Budget 2023 focused on enhancing the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) ecosystem.

These measures include the provision of up to RM40 billion in loan facilities and financing guarantees for MSMEs as well as the reduction in tax on the first RM150,000 of revenue of MSMEs to 15 percent, from 17 per cent. Almost RM10 billion in loans for MSMEs will be made available by Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) to ease the financial burden of MSMEs and support their business development.

Mr. Nitesh Malani, Chairman of Yayasan Usahawan Malaysia said, “The measures announced by the government to help the business community is much-needed especially as MSMEs are still struggling to recover from the impact of the pandemic over the past three years.”

“The support and focus on the development of the MSMEs in Budget 2023 will allow them to not only accelerate business growth but also expand and compete within the wider ASEAN landscape. The measures also represent a step towards making Malaysia a more attractive and conducive hub for companies operating within the region,” Nitesh added.

Yayasan Usahawan Malaysia, looks forward to working with the government and its agencies to support MSMEs, assist them to overcome challenges, as well as on how allocated funds can be fairly, effectively, and efficiently channelled to the businesses in need.
